Yellowstone National Park

Start off surrounded by the beautiful scenery of Yellowstone National Park. There is so much to see and explore! Stunning geysers, gorgeous hot springs, and majestic wildlife are what bring this park to life. Drive through, or park the car and wander, just make sure to watch for bears and have your camera at the ready! Not sure what to snap? Check out the National Park Service’s guide here! Finally, after a day of exploring crawl into a cozy bed at Wander Camp’s elite glamping site located just fifteen minutes away from the park itself!

Bear Lake

After a refreshing night’s sleep, you are ready to hop in the car! Pull onto US 191 South for about 4 hours or 170 miles, making sure to take advantage of the views and rest stops along the way. Take a breather at your next campsite then head off to the lake! Known as the “Caribbean of the Rockies” the bright turquoise water is enchanting and offers loads of summer fun. Relax on the beach, or enjoy opportunities for boating, jet skiing, or hiking all available at the lake. Before you leave, make sure to beat the heat with one of Bear Lake’s most famous treats, raspberry milkshakes! Creamy and delicious swing by La Beau’s to grab yours before moving on down the road!

Moab

You will have the longest portion of your drive, 6 hours, or 354 miles, up next. The destination of Moab Utah is more than worth it! Take some time to stretch out in comfort and then get excited for all that Moab has in store!  Moab is a rural area, great for embracing the wondrous natural beauty during the day and relaxing under a full sky of stars at night. Explore Arches National Park, full of amazing trailheads perfect to admire the stunning red rocks. If you are feeling extra adventurous you can appreciate those same rocks from the sky! Moab offers a treat for the daredevil in all of us in the form of skydiving! However you chose to take in the views, Moab will never disappoint!

Zion

Zion National park is the next stop, 5 hours and 314 miles away, you will be impressed the whole drive down as Southern Utah unfurls past your car window. You’ll be swept away by what Zion National Park has to offer, just twenty-five minutes out from your home base. You can spend all day hiking the expanses of the park with trails that range from family-friendly to the daunting Angel’s Landing. Leave the park and explore what else this location has to offer such as a show in a gorgeous amphitheater or go horseback riding through the canyon! Zion is a beautiful location to enjoy your time with friends and family!

Lake Powell

Dust off some of that red dirt as you move on to Lake Powell! Just less than 5 hours has you at the lake and your new favorite place to park your car! Explore Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend or spend some time out on the lake! Leave the water and head to the town of Pace Arizona, close to camp and full of amazing nightlife! While you’re there, treat your road trip crew to a dinner at Sunset 89! Delicious food is paired with a spectacular view of Lake Powell. Making this stop is sure to pack adventure and treasured memories into your summer trip!

Finally, round out your trip, 183 miles farther to take in the breathtaking experience the Grand Canyon has to offer. This stop is in a prime location; 15 minutes away from the park, food options, and stations to fill up for gas makes for an ideal final destination. The National Parks Service has many ideas for taking in the Canyon. You can rent out bicycles for a scenic cruise or trot down to the basin of the canyon on the back of a mule!
