Moab is one of our newest glamping locations at Wander Camp and is open later in the year than most of our other locations. We love Moab because there are so many trails and sites within the park. If you are looking for some other fun activities off camp, then this is the blog for you. The Moab Adventure Center is about a 11-minute drive and offers a variety of activities for any group. There are many other vendors you can book through as well. This article will cover seven attractions that provide friends and family with amazing experiences. These attractions include rafting, horseback riding, skydiving/paragliding, hot air balloons, ziplining, paddleboarding, and rock climbing.
Rafting
There are so many companies that you can choose to go rafting with in Moab. Most locations are within 30 mins of our Moab campsite. Kids ages 4 and up are able to experience class I and II white water rapids. Prices are around $80-120 per person but prices do vary based on which tour group you choose. Some of the most popular include the Moab Adventure Center and the Sheri Griffith River Expeditions.
Horseback Riding
Horseback Riding is a must when visiting Moab. You can book between 1.5-2.5-hour excursions. This typically costs around $125-200 per person. During these rides you will explore the beautiful landscape and ride by the Colorado River. I would recommend booking through Moab Horses as you get the most bang for your buck, but any travel guide will do.
Skydiving/Paragliding
If you call yourself a thrill seeker, this is the activity for you. Not only do you get to see the park from a new angle, but you also get to forever tell friends and family about your invigorating experience. There are less vendors for this than for the other excursions, so the expected price is around $250.
Hot Air Balloons
Looking for the most Instagram worthy pics? You are definitely in the right place. You get to have a mesmerizing view of the park without forcing yourself out of a plane. This is for those who want to experience the awesome view without all of the hassle. There is no shame in not wanting to be a dare devil. Again, these prices are more set as there are less vendors. You can expect to pay $325 per person.
Ziplining
This is a great way to see some details you would not have originally noticed. If you plan on booking with the Moab Adventure Center, it is around an 11-minute drive from our Moab Arches location. Prices are anywhere from $150-160.
Paddle Boarding
Looking for a way to cool down? Paddleboarding would be my first recommendation. This is probably the most cost-effective activity you can choose. It is great for those with a larger group. You can rent each paddle board for $45 each. Also, if you are looking for another Instagram worthy location for a photo shoot, this would be the perfect candidate.
Rock Climbing
If you want more hands-on experience, then rock climbing should be your first choice. Rock climbing rates can be anywhere from $130-300 depending on how long you want to go and with whom you book through. Shoes can be rented out for $7-10 a pair. This is a great family bonding activity.
Conclusion
To close, you can choose any or all of these activities depending on how adventurous you are feeling. I hope that reading this article helps you to feel more informed on all the many activities that Moab has to offer.
