Whitewater rafting is for the thrill seekers out there. Both Wild West Whitewater Rafting and Yellowstone Raft Company are a 23 minute drive from Yellowstone National Park. Wild West Whitewater Rafting is around $64-$74 per person for a half day or $128-$148 per person for a full day. Wild West Whitewater Rafting does trips on the Yellowstone River. Yellowstone Raft Company is around the same price with half day prices being $64-$74 per person and $129-$149 per person for a full day. Yellowstone Raft Company rafts the Montana River.
Soak in a Hot Spring
There are two popular locations where tourists can soak in the hot springs: Firehole River and Boiling River. These rivers are cooled down enough so that it is safe for visitors to swim and soak in these waters. Boiling River is only a 16 minute drive from Yellowstone National Park and is warmer than Firehole River. Its average temperature is anywhere from 110 degrees Fahrenheit to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Firehole River is an hour drive from Yellowstone and is around 70 degrees Fahrenheit to 78 degrees Fahrenheit. The highest temperature Firehole River has reached is 86 degrees Fahrenheit. Soaking in these waters will relax your muscles and give you and unforgettable memory.
Go Kayaking
Kayaking is for those looking for a more peaceful and slow activity. It does not provide the same adrenaline rush as whitewater rafting. Kayaking gives you a chance to enjoy the scenery around you. Prices for kayak rental and tour are anywhere from $129 for a half day to $189 for a full day. Popular locations to kayak include Lewis Lake and Shoshone Lake.
