Hoodoo Geology Talks – Discover the Secrets of Hoodoos
One of Bryce Canyon’s most fascinating features is its iconic hoodoos—tall, thin spires of rock that create a dreamlike landscape. If you’ve ever wondered how these formations came to be, you won’t want to miss the Hoodoo Geology Talk at Sunset Point. Running daily from February 2, 2025, to January 10, 2026, at 11:30 AM, this free talk is a great opportunity to learn about the forces of nature that shaped this incredible terrain. No reservations are needed—just bring your curiosity and get ready to be amazed! The conversation lasts about 30 minutes.

Full Moon Hikes – A Magical Moonlit Adventure
Imagine hiking through Bryce Canyon’s surreal rock formations bathed in soft moonlight, with the night sky stretching endlessly above. The Full Moon Hike is a ranger-led experience that takes place once a month, offering visitors the chance to explore the park in a whole new way. The experience is serene, mysterious, and absolutely unforgettable. Since space is limited, tickets are required and can be reserved online in advance. Hikers should come prepared with sturdy boots, water, and a warm jacket—temperatures can drop quickly after sunset. Flashlights with white light are not allowed, but red-light headlamps can be used as needed. Due to the rugged trails, this activity is not wheelchair accessible, and children under seven are not permitted. If you’re lucky, you may even hear the distant call of a nocturnal animal while trekking under the starry sky.

This annual event features guided hikes led by geologists who share their insights into the park’s ancient past. Start your morning with an educational hike (free tickets available at the Visitor Center starting at 8 AM), then head to the Visitor Center Plaza, where geology booths from nearby parks and institutions offer hands-on learning experiences.
