Glamping and being outdoors offers a multitude of health benefits. There is something about being in nature that reconnects you to yourself and what is most important. It is important we get outside and enjoy these health benefits, many of which are unique to glamping. In general, glamping can help you live a longer, healthier life. There are so many other reasons to go glamping, like seeing amazing scenery, why not add improving your overall health as a reason to go glamping!
Here is a general list of the health benefits of glamping. This is not a comprehensive list and none are guaranteed.
Fresh air, more oxygen
When you are around more trees, it is likely that you will take in more oxygen because there is an abundance around you. Research has shown that time outdoors can improve blood pressure, improve digestion, and boost your immune system. All of these benefits are due to the increase in oxygen your body is taking in and less pollutants in the air.
Physical Activity
Because you are in nature, likely you will get more exercise than normal. There are so many fun, active things to do around our Wander Camp sites that your body will thank you! The level of activity can be completely up to you and you can make it as relaxing or as strenuous as you want. You will be moving more that you usually do sitting in your traditional office chair all day, so you will likely burn more calories. No wonder you get hungry while glamping! Another side benefit of glamping is the food. It is wonderful and everything tastes better cooked over the fire.
Unplug from Technology
Our glamp sites are remote and give you the opportunity to really connect with nature and leave the technological world behind for a few days. This has tremendous benefits to your health. Your self awareness will increase, stress will be reduced, and depression can be lifted. As you have time away from the social media world, you will have time to self-reflect and think about you and your life and how you want to move forward. Science has shown that we don’t get into nature as much as we need to, and this is affecting our mental health and many aspects of our life. Technology also has a huge impact on why we don’t get outside and in nature as much as we should. When the distractions are gone, and you can truly focus on you and those around you.
Relationships
You can plan on your relationships being strengthened with whomever you glamp with. First you have a lot of free time to do fun things with those you are glamping with. And as mentioned earlier, you will have less distractions so you can spend quality time with those you love.
Sunshine
Your body needs Vitamin D and one of the easiest and most natural ways to get that is by being in the sunshine. Your skin will love it and you will get the essential vitamins you need. Plus, sunshine just generally makes everyone happier!
A Good Night’s Sleep
In our luxury beds with comfy comforters, you will get a very good night’s sleep after a long day of adventuring. A good night’s sleep reduces inflammation, improves cardiovascular health, and helps you stay awake and alert during the day and not be as exhausted. Another benefit to sleeping in a tent is you are away from light pollution and electricity so you will naturally sleep better. You will have an amazing view of the stars, but also your circadian rhythm will improve and reset so you will sleep better when you return home.
Growth
Studies have shown that new experiences help keep the brain active and healthy. Activities that are both intellectually and physically stimulating for the brain are best, and glamping fits both those requirements. Every glamping trip is different and unique so you can make it what you want and make it has challenging as you would like to help yourself grow.
Connection with Nature
One of the more obvious health benefits to glamping is the time you get to spend in nature. We need our time in nature as human beings. It helps us physically, mentally and emotionally to be stable. As you take time to meditate and reflect on your glamping trip, you will leave a new person.
Educational Opportunity for Children
Children are in the crucial years of their development. When they are in nature and have to rely on new ways of doing things, they learn a lot of essential skills. They can become more independent and confident in their knowledge of more things, and especially survival skills. Plus, your children will have a lot of memories to reflect on and they will be able to use their imagination while in nature, which is always healthy for a child.
Relieves Stress
Stress is the most common health struggle among Americans. The stressors of the world and life weigh heavily on us. Glamping gives you the opportunity to leave the world behind and refocus on what really matters and what is most important. Relieving stress and refocusing can greatly impact many areas in your life specific to you.
